Prometheus (grade 3)
Prometheus: The Greek God of Fire. Unmatched in the ability to amaze through beauty of hot gradients and unapologetic enough to enable widespread conflagration; these are the gifts of the Greek God known for bringing fire to the people. Allow your ensemble to explore the torrid and fiery beauty of Prometheus’ divine gift to humanity.
Prometheus is built around vignettes of fire through its perveying role in the gifts of many. Percussive pulses in the low strings breathe life to the flames while teaching students the importance of rhythmic accuracy and uniform bowing. Violin parts are harmonically invigorating, relying on the sections to paint the seductive beauty of light through fire with precise and clear technique. Additionally, Prometheus explores part independence through arpeggiation, percussive, and melodic motives in each section. Program a spring concert or festival/contest with Prometheus.
